In Pakistan, all the old rare Aseel/Asil breeds originated from India, and the Aseel keepers were also from India. Many of these Aseel roosters are named on Indian cities, such as Amroha and Rampur, among others.
Today, we share the historical famous Aseel breed from the time of 1947. During this period, two countries were being established in world map India and Pakistan, and people were migrating. Among these migrants was a person named “Nawab”, who migrated from India to Pakistan with some of his Aseel roosters. Nawab was a poor single unmarried or aggressive personality men. This hobby to rise aseel chicken, but they were not common Aseel/ Asil; they were the rare “Kalay Nawab waly aseel” roosters.

The “Kalay Nawab waly Aseel” roosters actually became famous in Pakistan after the separation of Pakistan and India. “Kalay” means black, and “Nawab” refers to the man who brought these roosters from faridkot India. This breed is known as Faridkoti Aseel in India, and Nawab acquired it from the richest Sikh family in Faridkot.
After migrating, Nawab stayed with some friends. However, due to his aggressive behavior, he was sometimes asked to leave, and sometimes he left on his own. One day, he arrived in the city of Pakpattan in Punjab, Pakistan and met a famous Aseel keeper “Master Sohna”. At that time, there was no ban or illegal Aseel rooster fights in India or Pakistan, so ,Master Sohna used to pit his roosters against those of Diwan Sahb Sufi family’s spiritual leader of Pakpattan.Many people would gather and watching the Aseel games in Pakpattan.
