Lasani Aseel/Asil:
First, let’s understand the meaning of the word ‘Lasani’; it means ‘there is none like it’. Lasani Aseel/Asil is old Indian subcontinent chicken breed from Aseel family. In the past, they are used for game purpose, but now they are rare and it is found in only 4 to 5 Aseel breeding farm in Pakistan.
How old “Lasani Aseel/Asil” look like:
According to interview conduct on old legends Ustad Syed Nasir or Ustad jamil on (KOAL ASEEL, 2021; Paki Pets World, 2019) The old Lasani Aseel were shorter in height, with a minimum male 3 kg and females with 2kg. Their colors included red splash, black, and red or black mix. Their beak and shanks were light yellow in color. The neck and shanks were of normal size. The face was a little bit long and round, and the eye color was white with red and black lines. Their tail was long and down towards the ground. Some Lasani have single comb and some are small Aseel comb.

Lasani Aseel were very aggressive and tolerant birds. They were also very fast (Paki Pets World, 2019).
Lowis sir and Lasnai Aseel/Asil:
Many people say that Lewis Sahib, who was a famous Aseel/Asil breeder in the subcontinent, created the Lasani Aseel/Asil by crossbreeding different chicken breeds. However, there is no strong reference to verify this claim, but it is true that Lewis Sahib had Lasani Aseel.
Who is Lowis sir?
According to Ustad Syed Nasir, many people consider Lewis Sahib to be Britisher, but this is not true. He was of a Hindu background who converted to Christianity. His skin is white, people to mistakenly think he was Britisher. Additionally, he was a railway engineer in British India, where most engineers were British, which might be why people started to perceive him as Britisher. However, his hobby to keeping Aseel/Asil chickens and fighting them in pits.
What is difference between Bangum lasani and Simple lasani:
The only one difference of Bangum and simple lasani is’ the Bangum lasani have single or long comb, and simple lasani have short comb.
Myths and wrong information about Lasani Aseel/Asil:
Many people spread wrong information on social media that Lasani Aseel are only black in color with white beak and shanks; this is completely incorrect. Some people take advantage of this statement and sell simple black Aseel as Lasani at very high prices. Lasani is a rare breed and is only present with a few breeders in Pakistan.
Is Pure Lasani Aseel/Asil full black in color?
No lasani dominate color is black but they have different more colors.
